We welcome freeskiing content creator steepsteep — formally known as Nick Riemer — to the Faction Collective.

He's known for his full-throated, visceral reviews of ski films and the dynamic world of competitive freeskiing. We're stoked to welcome Nick as a prime example of where freeskiing meets the creative sphere.

Nick grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and began skiing at the age of 6 on his local bunny hill. He ski raced until the age of 12, but left the team after a traumatic experience trying on a downhill suit in -25°C weather.

Afterward, he transitioned to freestyle skiing, quickly falling in love with the more comfortable boots, warm gear, and the thrill of catching proper airtime. He competed in events across the country until, at 17, a crash resulted in a fractured L5 vertebra, leading him to believe his skiing career was over.

However, this setback marked the start of a new chapter. After making a full recovery, Nick began creating ski edits for YouTube, which quickly gained traction and helped form an incredible community. Now, he's fortunate enough to ski around the world, collaborating with the athletes and brands he once admired on the big screen.

His journey has brought him some of the best moments of his life, and he attributes his success to the hugely supportive community behind his channel.

As you can see, he is recovering from a leg injury sustained this summer in the Whistler Blackcomb bike park; we're waiting to see a dub 360 down whip on that scooter.

'Sometimes, what seem to be the biggest hurdles in your life can create the most beautiful opportunities.
    — Much love, Rubber Ducky'

    Welcome to the Collective, Nick.
