Yann Rausis took home silver at FWT18 Hakuba Japan staged in Kicking Horse Golden BC. Sending one of the biggest airs of the day on a gnarly top section of the face, and landing a smooth backie out the bottom, Yann racked up an impressive 89.67 points that was good enough to take second spot.
After a mixed bag of results at the first stop due to changeable snow conditions and difficult visibility, Yann Rausis, Elisabeth Gerritzen and Taisuke Kusunoki were all pumped and ready for a second competition in two days. Elisabeth put down a solid top section, including a seriously big air, before putting her foot down out the bottom and claiming a respectable 4th place. Taisuke, aiming for one of the biggest drops of the day didn't manage to stick the landing, but laced together the rest of his run to finish middle of the pack at 15th.
Still a lot to play for for our dream team of Freeride World Tour riders. Watch out for the next stops in Vallnord-Arcallis, Andorra and Fieberbrunn, Austria, where the riders will be fighting to qualify for the finals at our hometown in Verbier!
