Antti Ollila on the Prodigy 3

“The Prodigy 3 has shaped the way I ski these days. Cruising around the resort, finding side hits and slashing the soft pockets. It does it all, from park days to powder, it’s my choice for most days. I love the flex of the tail, perfect for manuals and ollies.”

THE STORY BEHIND THE GRAPHICS

We wanted the Prodigy Series to be a celebration of light, flight, and freedom of expression. We’ve partnered once again with Paris-based Parade Studio to bring these graphics to life. We chose Neon lights because we love the combination of nostalgia with a futuristic twist. We chose objects and creatures in flight because they symbolize our feeling of flying down the mountain, something we can all relate to and that connects our community of snow riders.

Sophia Rouches ON THE PRODIGY 3X

“The Prodigy 3X is my favorite ‘do everything’ ski. It’s super playful, turns on a dime, and can handle any conditions with ease.”

RECYCLED MATERIALS

We are working with our production partners to eliminate material waste. We now mix base, sidewall and topsheet material scraps back into the raw material used for production, reducing carbon emissions while ensuring the same level of quality & durability. As a fun fact, by integrating recycled materials into our ski bases, we reduce the ecological impact of our bases by 75%.

ELLIPTICAL SIDECUT

Elliptical Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths, angles and mounting positions. See here.

ANTI CHIP MICRO CAP

Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping.

SUSTAINABLE WOOD CORE

Our poplar, beech and ash cores are sourced from the forests that are growing near our European factories, eliminating the carbon cost of transporting raw materials across great distances. Our raw materials are FSC accredited. This means that the forests from which our wood is sourced are managed to support environmental and societal sustainability.

XL 2.5MM EDGES

7 fractions of a millimetre might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The 2.5mm edges stack an extra 35% of height on top of our already super-durable standard 1.8mm edges. This extra steel gives the rider a pair of skis that are going to take more abuse and last longer.

MUSTACHE FLEX

This flex works best for most skiers. Enjoy stability in front of, and behind the binding area to provide solid edge hold. Then, we transition to smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to easily absorb all the different bumps and snow debris the mountain throws at you. This flex allows for progression and for an easier turn initiation and finish.

FULL STRENGTH SIDEWALL

A construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the woodcore, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage. Note Prodigy 0, JR & Yth models have a partial sidewall.

DUNCAN ADAMS ON THE PRODIGY 4

“The Prodigy 4 shines in any kind of soft snow, from untouched pow to end of the day chop and spring slush. The playful and forgiving flex paired with the width makes it ideal for absorbing chop and bouncing through the terrain, while the shape and sidecut offer surprising nimbleness when you get it on edge.”
