The Faction Prodigy 4 is the widest ski in the Prodigy series at 116 mm waist width, providing optimal float on the deepest powder day. Thanks to the directional twin-tip shape, eliptical sidecut, poplar wood core, and heavy rocker profile, the Prodigy 4 is incredibly playful by nature, effortlessly buttering over rollers, stomping big airs, and nimbly dances through powder laden forests. Complementing its prowess in the deep snow, the ski reliably holds its edge and is highly adept in tight-turning scenarios, for the days spent impatiently waiting for the next storm to arrive.

You'll love this ski if:

  • You want a fat, playful ski because you regularly ski powder and soft snow
  • You like to surf, smear and slash in soft snow conditions
  • You love to butter and occasionally ski or land backwards
  • You believe that pow is life

Features

Lightweight Poplar Core

Poplar is a medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities. It allows the ski to pop, butter and stomp like an all-mountain freestyle ski and also have enough torsional stability to grip impressively on the downhill.

Recycled Materials

Working with our production partners to eliminate material waste, we now mix base, sidewall and topsheet material scraps back into the raw material used for production, reducing carbon emissions while ensuring the same level of quality & durability.

Locally Sourced Materials

In an effort to reduce the impact of our supply chain, we strive to source materials from European companies that are based near our factories.

Sustainable Wood Core

Our poplar, beech and ash cores are sourced from the forests near our European factories, eliminating the carbon cost of transporting raw materials across great distances.

100% Renewable Energy

This ski is produced in a cutting-edge facility that runs on electrical power that is 100% renewable. Additionally, its heating energy comes solely from biomass. The factory no longer uses oil, resulting in annual CO2 emissions reductions of a whopping 10 million kilograms.

XL 2.5mm Edges

7 fractions of a millimetre might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The 2.5mm edges stack an extra 35% of height on top of our already super-durable standard 1.8mm edges. This extra steel gives the rider a pair of skis that are going to take more abuse and last longer.

XL Full Strength Sidewall

A construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the wood core, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage.

Elliptical Sidecut

Elliptical Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths, angles and mounting positions (stay tuned for our mounting guide).

Anti Chip Micro Cap

Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping.

Mustache Flex

This flex works best for most skiers. Enjoy stability in front of, and behind the binding area to provide solid edge hold. Then, we transition to smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to easily absorb all the different bumps and snow debris on the mountain. This flex allows for an easier turn initiation and finish.

Directional Twin Tip

A considerably skinnier tail width than in the tip provides ultimate downhill performance for attacking the mountain. A twin tip in the tail encourages playfulness and freestyle attitude, meaning you can ride switch without problem.

Matte High Resistance Topsheet

We use the highest quality topsheet material available, and we test it rigorously to ensure it stands up to regular abuse. Sourced near our factories in Europe for a friendlier supply chain.
